Building an Altec 1566A mic preamp

I just started on building an Altec 1566A mic preamp. I am working in a 2U rack case with a VU meter and a small isolation transformer already installed in it. I am beginning my hunt for the parts I don't have -- sockets, resistors, XLR connectors, etc. I will post some pictures soon as I make progress on this project.

My new blog

Today I created this blog because of my interest in vacuum tube electronics, especially recording equipment. I will be writing about building tube equipment, restoring tube stuff, and places to get tubes and related parts. Enjoy!
